Welcome Northview’s new Athletic Director, Scotty McDaniel.
Coach Scotty McDaniel has been a teacher and a coach for the past 10 years in the state of Georgia. He spent the previous year at Northview, as the AP Economics teacher, as well as a football and baseball coach. Prior to coming to Northview in 2014, Coach McDaniel spent 9 years teaching and coaching in Gwinnett County, at Mountain View, Dacula, South Gwinnett, and Mill Creek high schools. He has experience coaching football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball at the high school level. In addition to coaching at the high school level, Coach McDaniel also has served as the Travel Baseball Director for Mill Creek, as well as head coach with travel baseball, football, and basketball teams in Gwinnett County.
Prior to becoming an educator, Coach McDaniel spent 2 years with The Home Depot, working as an analyst and a store manager, through their Store Leadership Program. Before that, he served in the US Army for over 11 years, leaving the military as a Captain in 2003. After leaving the Army he moved to Buford, GA where he lives with his beautiful wife of 20 years, Tracy, and their three children. Bret (17), Colton (15), and Savannah (14).
Coach McDaniel was born in Buena Vista, Virginia, graduating from high school in 1990. He attended the University of Tampa, where he received a B.S. in Finance. He later received his M.B.A., from the University of Colorado.

ï»¿Northview Alumni Named SEC Pitcher of the Week AGAIN!
Mizzou junior RHP Reggie McClain (Duluth, Ga.) was named SEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday(Feb. 23) following his complete game shutout of Sam Houston State last Friday. This is the second consecutive week that McClain has earned SEC Pitcher of the Week, making him the first SEC pitcher to accomplish that feat since LSU's Aaron Nola did so in 2013. http://www.mutigers.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/022315aaa.html
Congratulations to Reggie McClain, Northview Class of 2011, as he was named SEC Pitcher of the week! What an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations to former Northview pitcher Matt Campbell who was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 9th round of the MLB draft. Campbell was a 4 year reliever at Clemson. He had an outstanding senior season for the Tigers going 4-0 with a 0.84 ERA and 8 saves. He struck out 45 batters in 32 innings. Good luck Matt!
